What methods can I use? |
The two main processes to decorate mugs are by sublimation printing and pad printing. Sublimation is more of a digital transfer process that allows you to put photos and full color images on polymer coated mugs. Pad printing is essentially screen printing mugs. Both are very good processes for different reasons. |

What are the basic methods of decorating mugs? |
This website will focus more on sublimation decoration because it provides more versatility for the cost involved. Sublimation allows you to transfer any image you can produce on to a polymer coated mug. Pad printing mugs can be very cheap, but the equipment can run into the thousands of dollars and it limits you to one or two color images for large order runs. Pad printing is great for someone looking to do promotional product orders for hundreds of pieces with simple art, but sublimation is much, much better for someone looking to start out and put photo quality images on mugs. |
